We’ll explore each section of the performance report module in this chapter, from a mobile access viewpoint, since the metrics are synchronized between desktop and mobile.

Interactions
Google considers calls, messages, bookings, direction requests and website clicks “interactions”. Interactions are the total composite of the other tabs that make up the performance report.
Time Period. You can select specific time periods from the drop menu at the top of the screen.
How To Use This Information. As an overview of your historical performance, you can see how well your business is interacting with prospects and take action to get better in areas you see deficiencies.
Views
The views sections shows you the number of unique visitors who’ve viewed your profile within the time period selected. These visitors are counted once per day, though they may visit your profile from multiple devices and platforms.
You’ll see a color-coded graphic display with the number of views broken down by platform (Google Search vs Google Maps) and device type (mobile vs desktop), along with the percentage each represents.
How To Use This Information. This can help you focus your organic (SEO and content marketing) and PPC efforts based upon the views you’re getting. Mobile often represents the majority of views and signifies the importance of making sure your website is easy to navigate on a phone.

Searches

You’ll see a breakdown of each search term your profile was displayed for, along with the number of times it was shown within the time period selected.
How To Use This Information. Make sure that your profile information is up to date and correct. That includes a consistent use of your Business Name, Address and Phone Number (NAP) across all directories. It also means being responsive in replying to reviews and messages in a helpful, professional and timely manner. Posting, adding offers and updating products and services all combine to help ensure your profile is shown to the largest number of people possible
Calls
This tells you the number of calls that were initiated from your Google Business profile during the time period selected.
How It Works. If the “Call” feature is available for your business and you turn it on, Google provides a call forwarding number that’s different from the one on your profile, so that Google can track the calls (and only calls, text is not included). Google considers calls answered and calls sent to voicemail as “answered”.
Call Trends Chart. The chart makes it easy to see trends and compare the number of calls over various timeframes.
How To Use This Information. Depending upon your interactivity, you can assess the effectiveness of offers and posts you add to your profile. Are they increasing calls? Similarly, you can see if the addition of new products and services impacts the number of calls you receive.
Call History. Step by step instructions for turning on Call History and specific details about Call History can be found in Chapter 12 of this Guide by clicking here.
